Roger Saillant's Biography


Roger Saillant was a child of the foster care system for eighteen years where he
lived with multiple families. Despite those challenging childhood circumstance, he
was able to earn a scholarship to Bowdoin College, a PhD in chemistry at Indiana
University, a UCLA post doctorate, and an honorary doctorate at SUNY Cobleskill.
He worked thirty-years at The Ford Motor Company in various senior
management positions until he became CEO of Plug Power. Ultimately, he was
appointed an Executive Director and adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve
He co-authored the environmental thriller, Vapor Trails, with RP Siegel and was
one of several co-authors of the book The Flourishing Enterprise.
He and his wife, Mary Lou, live in Saratoga Springs, New York where he writes,
consults, and raises wildflowers.
